Accreditation Process through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare

Notes:
- Liberty is currently in the process of writing the application.
- Having a simulation center is not the same as having a simulation program and the accreditation process is putting your programs in the spotlight and under a magnifying glass
- Accreditation is not a requirement
- Costs between $6,000-10,000

- The VA Board of Nursing has increased the percentage of clinical hours to 25%
- VASSA conference is July 31-August 1 2017 in Charlottesville
- VASSA plans to have at least 2 webinars available to members annually
Simulation Tech Overview

Notes:
- A Simulation Tech’s job is to manage flow, technical support, fight fires/emergencies as they arise on a daily basis, equipment upgrades, moulage, repairs, improvements, AV system, and video
- Drew is available for shadowing opportunities
- Simulation Technician does not need simulation background; technical and audiovisual equipment background is helpful
IPE Disaster Scenario

Notes:
- Â Simulation includes LPN students, RN students, and Paramedic students
- Simulation is a 5 hour simulation with 3 phases including prehospital and ED
- Using Goggle Hangouts and cell phones, the scenarios are recorded and streamed to students who are observing, also use Go-Pro to record some interactions
- Use Google Docs for students to self-schedule into a portion of the scenario
- Students will work in simulation as provider, SP or observer
